Birmingham for World Qualifier Round 6
Following a fairly dramatic last meeting at Northampton the team
were hoping for a slightly more relaxed meeting this time although the
small Birmingham track, 30 nationals and changeable weather still made
for an exciting meeting!

Everything learnt during the
afternoon practise session went out the window when the rain came
down just before the start of race 1. Opting for slicks was a mistake
but Brian still brought the #262 car home in 9th place. For race
two the weather was still an issue although the track was now |

much drier so the team decided to go for slicks on the outside
and wets on the inside. Starting from the rear of the grid Brian made
up places throughout the race and came home 12th, narrowly missing out
on 11th on the dash to the line. Things looked good in the final and as
the race enetered its 11th lap Brian was holding fifth but spun on the
entry into turn 1 in his attempts to stick with Ricky Hunn's #639 car.
So, a disappointing end to the final but with the next meeting at Birmingham
in 2 weeks time we can look to improve the handling for next time out.
