Wash out at Kerswell - 17 / 04
/ 05
Ross made his first appearance of the season at Kerswell yesterday
only for the meeting to be washed out after the first round of qualifiers.

The Kerswell crew have made some
improvements to the track over the past few weeks, adding new barriers down
the hairpin end of the track and lengthening one of the infield straights,
adding a few metres to the total track length. A large gate has also been
built to put across the straight during the week to stop unwanted users
of the track! So, after setting up we decided to get some practise in with
the new diff settings and the Corally SSB tyres from our STCC series while
it was still dry. |

At least Mike bought his gazebo!
Thanks mate ;) |

(Now why did i leave
mine at home?) |
Pleasingly the car felt very good from the first lap of practise
- which is amazing as i've always been particularly awful at Kerswell, but hopefully
no longer! Unfortunatly the rain then came down and by
the tme our first qualifier came down the track was very wet, I went out on
the SSB Slicks to get some wet practise in on them as no wet tyre is allowed
in the national STCC Series so if we get a wet event there everyone will be
on slicks. That's the official reason anyway - the other reason being I left
the wets at home ;) To my suprise the car was okay on slicks and I think we
did 20 laps in 4th place, Mike meanwhile was flying round on his wets to set
an incredibly impressive 22 laps - in the wet!

Ross' plan for finishing
the final was at best unusual... |
Unfortunatly the rain came down even harder after the first
qualifiers were finished and the decision was taken to stop the meeting - leaving
everyone to go home and dry the very expensive electrics!
We'll be back at Kerswell next week, hopefully wth better weather,
See you there.
